Somaliland University of Technology awarded twenty (20) scholarships to the top graduates from Somalilands secondary schools; and another twenty scholarships to the top primary school graduates.

The university also offered thirty  (30) scholarships to young women for its Womens'  Empowerment Programme.

This has been done without any financial support from any other entity.

A Somaliland Delegation of three professor led by Dr. Saeed Sheikh, the President, and included Professor AbdiHakim Yusuf Khaire, Professor Mohamed Farah Mousa, left the country on 27th of Feb, 2010 to Khartoum, Sudan to attend an International conference  to  that is to start at the University of Khartoum on 1st March, 2010.  The  conference shall discusse, anaylse, sort out recommendations on how to enhance: teaching and learning process of EAP ( English for Academic pursposes and ESP (English for Specific Purposes).

Somaliland University of TEchnology got an official invitation from the British Council and the UK Embassy in Sudan.
